Subscription services are both convenient and customizable, which might explain why they have become so popular across various industries in recent years. One of the fastest growing segments of this booming market involves coffee … and if you’ve done any research about the subscriptions currently available, you might have been overwhelmed by the choices.

Fortunately, Vice writer Jaina Rodriguez Grey spent lots of time testing the top options out so you don’t have to.

After focusing on characteristics like delivery time, freshness, consistency, and uniqueness (and preparing the beans via several common methods), she selected a few of the best, including:

  • The overall winner: Trade Coffee took the top honor based on the variety and quality of the nationwide network of roasters who provide the beans. Eleven-ounce bags start at $15 and deliveries are available every week, 10 days, or two weeks.
  • The globetrotter: Atlas Coffee Club scored high marks based on its prioritization of “single-origin” beans. If you want to taste the differences between the world’s top coffee-producing regions, this is a solid choice. Deliveries are every two or four weeks and 12-ounce bags sell for $17 or more.
  • The robusta master: Blue Bottle Coffee is the subscription service of choice for fans of the high-caffeine robusta roast, with particularly rave reviews for its “17-Foot Ceiling” blend. Get a shipment every one to four weeks with prices for an 11-ounce bag starting as $21.

The good thing about how many options there are is that customers can (with a little trial and error) brew the perfect cup of coffee with beans delivered to their front door. So whether you’re a die-hard New Yorker (consider subscribing to Bean & Bean) or a lifelong Southerner (Grit Coffee might be right for you), a brand-new coffee experience is only a few clicks away.
