Now, a new line of devices from Tile adds an array of additional features.
The Life360 acquisition
In 2021, Tile was purchased for $205 million by the company Life360. It wasn’t until this week, however, that we’ve seen anything emerge as a result.
“We’re on a mission to keep members of our families safe and close to the people they love,” explained Life360 Chief Product Officer James Selby. “It’s the first time that we have had a new launch since the acquisition.”
And there are several reasons he says that this lineup of devices will be worth the wait.
More than just new colors
At first glance, the redesigned Tile Mate, Pro, Slim, and Sticker might not look that different from previous models — aside from a range of new colors including aqua blue, navy blue, green, and pink. But in addition to its sleeker appearance are several noteworthy features, including:
- SOS, which can silently alert emergency contacts with a touch of a button
- Extended Bluetooth range for the Mate, Pro, and Slim models
- The ability to ring a missing phone even if it is in silent mode
- Access to a Life360 map that shows all items being tracked by a Tile
“It’s been a long time coming … we have this real focus on family safety and family connections, which is why SOS makes so much sense to us. It’s a real standout, differentiated feature for this lineup,” Selby concluded.
Pricing for the new Tile trackers starts at $25 for the Mate and Sticker, with the Slim priced at $30 and the Pro at $35.
