If you’ve ever been to a Tommy Bahama store or spent time around someone whose wardrobe is made up of its tropic-themed attire, you’re probably already familiar with this unique aesthetic.

But there’s a lot more to the brand than silk button-up shirts these days.

Welcome to Palm Springs

When Tommy Bahama decided to venture into the hotel industry, it focused on a California location with an environment that suits the brand’s image quite well. And after looking around Palm Springs for the right property, the company found a 60-year-old resort that could use an update.

So the Miramonte Resort and Spa received a Tommy Bahama glow-up and is welcoming guests for a getaway starting at $259 per night.

Wondering what a Tommy Bahama-themed hotel includes? Here’s an overview:

  • Spanish and Mediterranean architectural cues
  • Tropical designs and murals that reflect the brand’s reputation
  • Bocce ball courts and a nearby golf course
  • One bar indoors and another one beside one of the three pools
  • An outdoor lounge complete with fire pits

And of course there’s a store on site to bring home a new Hawaiian shirt and accessories.

The brand expands

As you might expect, the new 215-room hotel also offers dining at Chiki Palm and Grapefruit Basil … but it’s not the first time Tommy Bahama has ventured into the restaurant business.

There is already a chain of eateries called Marlin Bars owned by the brand, with many of the locations found in Florida.

Tommy Bahama also has its own line of home furnishings, which might be a source of new features at its first hotel — as well as future resorts currently in the works.

The company has indicated a desire to add new hotels to its lineup, focusing on Florida and Hawaii as likely destinations for those future projects.
