Cybertrucks Are Selling For A Lot More Than Tesla Said They Would
It looks like Elon Musk's vision of a $40K model isn't going to happen. GiphyNews that is entertaining to read

A controversial EV
The Cybertuck is a polarizing vehicle that people either love or hate. It’s visually striking and looks like nothing else on the road … but whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing depends on your perspective.
And then there were the persistent delays in its debut compounded by concerns about build quality. But despite all the potential negatives, Cybertrucks are becoming a more common sight on the road and customers are willing to pony up big bucks to buy one.
An unattainable price
Tesla first announced the Cybetruck about five years ago, at which time the company’s CEO, Elon Musk, signaled that it would start at a downright thrifty $39,900. That entry-level price was subsequently boosted by 50% to put it right around $60,000.
At last check, however, there’s currently no option on the Tesla website to order the single-engine, rear-wheel-drive model. That means the model currently available for a whopping $99,900 will continue to be the cheapest Cybertruck on the market … at least for the foreseeable future.
A dominant display
On paper, it would appear that Ford would’ve been able to compete against the Cybertruck with its F-150 Lightning electric truck. After all of Tesla’s price hikes, the Ford was less expensive. It also had a more crowd-pleasing design that looked pretty much like the traditional F-150 pickup.
But those in the market for an EV truck have demonstrated a willingness to pay the premium for a Cybertruck. Meanwhile, Ford is transferring money from its EV products to bolster its more popular (and profitable) line of gas-powered vehicles.
